About
Michelle Wilson
Experienced, BACP Qualified Person Centred Counsellor based in Hedge End, Southampton, UK.
As a Person-Centred counsellor, I believe that every individual holds the key to their world. By this, I mean I believe you are the expert in your world, you know what's best for you and what decisions to make. I aim to offer you a confidential space, free from judgement, to explore any issues, or areas of your life, you may be finding difficult.

I work diligently alongside my clients, to help them find the answers they seek. I am committed to furthering and updating my knowledge through continued personal and professional development, to provide the best practice for you. I have worked with a variety of people dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives. Together we can explore any aspect of your life, with the hope of gaining a greater understanding of yourself, your personal relationships and the world around you.
I have a first-class degree with honours’ in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy, as well as completing further training in Solution-Focused Therapy.
Since qualifying, I have gained extensive counselling experience, working with adults and also children and young people.
I worked for ‘No Limits’ in Southampton, counselling adults, for a number of years then worked with children aged 5-10 providing counselling in school settings. I have also worked with adults who are survivors of abuse for PARCS – Portsmouth Abuse & Rape Counselling Service, as a Trauma Therapist. I am currently working throughout Hampshire as a Trauma Therapist for 6-18 year olds, who have experienced abuse.

I am a member of the BACP - British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their code of ethical practice. I hold individual therapy sessions in person from my home in Hedge End (Hampshire) or online over a video call, for both adults and under 18 year olds.
Experience
Finding the right therapist is the most important part of your counselling journey. You need to feel understood and safe with your counsellor, to help explore feelings, difficult emotions, and vulnerabilities.

With many different types of therapy, it can be confusing when searching for the right counsellor. I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, working with a Humanistic Approach. The theories behind this include Gestalt, Transactional Analysis as well as Person-Centred.

You are the expert on your world and my training means that I can offer you therapy which is the most appropriate for you.

I have my own counselling room, where I can offer face to face appointments. I am also qualified to provide telephone and online sessions, via video call. This enables me to offer a flexible approach for my clients.
